Life At The Farm

Once a month Evy gets to go stay on the farm {my parents home}.  She loves visiting the farm and experiences new things each time.  This month's visit included:

meeting her new friend "Kit-ty",

learning how to plank,

playing in the cow's water bucket

{I promise it was cleaned out before my parents let her swim in it}

love this look

drawing with sidewalk chalk

drawing on herself with chalk

and gazing at the cows

Although we miss her terribly when she's gone those few days, it is such a blessing that my parents offer us this "time off".  And, I know Evy doesn't really miss us during that time {tear} because she is having too much fun learning about and exploring the farm.

15 months

Evy is now 15 months old!  It's hard to believe!  On her 15 month birthday I decided it was time for her to try out her art skills.  So I bought her the cutest crayons and a pad of paper.  She loved them all!

She had so much fun "drawing" with her new crayons.  Of course, after a few minutes she decided she wanted to taste them and bit off the tip of the blue one.  So we had to brush her teeth to get the blue crayon off.  But, she still loved it!

Guest Blogging on Stafford Stories

I am so excited to be a guest blogger at Stafford Stories this week.  I am participating in a great series featuring Working Moms.  Head on over to Melissa's blog to read my post along with all the other mom's posts.  It has been a wonderful and insightful week to read about other hard working moms all over the country and see how they manage their day to day lifes.  You don't want to miss out!

Summer Nights

There is nothing better in the summer than running barefoot in the cool grass

Hi "G"

We have been so anxious to go visit Evy's new cousin, Gatlin.  When Evy saw him she walked up to him and said "Hi G".  It was a precious time.

Poor Gatlin doesn't know what he has gotten in to with these two girls!

then takin' a break

Last weekend we went to visit Evy's cousins Mallory and Gatlin in Oklahoma.  Evy and Mallory had so much fun together {as you can see}.  I know they can't wait to get back together and jump some more!

Celebrating Freedom and New Traditions

As July 4th was approaching we were trying to decide how we were going to celebrate.  We have two couples who are dear friends to us who invited us to the annual Arlington Independence Day Parade.  The parade is supposedly the best or biggest or longest parade in the nation {at least by the other couple's accounts} so we just couldn't miss out.

We had so much fun spending the morning with our friends and Evy loved the parade.  She would wave to everyone and dance when the bands marched by or the floats played music.  This parade has definitely been added to our list of traditions.

{Chad asked Evy's friend, Tyce, to "watch" Evy so Chad could sit down}

{The Six Flags float pulled up and they were singing a Journey song.  Evy jumped up from her chair and ran to the sidewalk and began singing and dancing...it was HILARIOUS!}
