Waiting

I love music...especially worship music. Worshipping God through music is a powerful experience for me and is something I do every morning while I get ready for work and on my drive to work. There have been some mornings when I am unable to worship and I feel this causes my day to not run so smoothly. Worshipping through music is very important to me and my relationship with Christ. These two songs have been at the top of my playlist this week. "Hope Now" has gotten me through many rough times over the past several months. When I felt the desires of my heart were not being heard, it was this song that gave me "hope" that God was listening to me and that I need to continue to have "faith" in Him. You may know "While I'm Waiting" from the movie Fireproof. This song is the first song I listen to and sing to in the mornings. It reminds me to be patient and know that no matter what my desires are, I will continue to serve God and have faith in Him. I have learned over the past year or so how faithful God is and that His timing is PERFECT!

You've Blessed Me A Bunch!

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
Romans 12:10
I am so blessed through the friendships I have. Events that occurred this past week reminded me of how wonderful it is to have girlfriends you can trust and rely on and know without a doubt they are there for you. I am blessed with several girlfriends who are true friends. I have known Elisabeth, Debbie and Kelly since we were in diapers in the church nursery. We have been through a lot together; teenage turmoil, high school graduation, college graduations, marriages, babies, deaths in the family, personal struggles, and many, many birthdays. Because we all live in different towns and have busy lives, we don’t get to talk or see each other often. But when we are together, it is as though we pick up right where we left off.
“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!”
Psalm 133:1 Saturday I was blessed to be able to spend the day with these ladies. We met up in Allen for shopping and lunch. I have to say I enjoyed lunch more than the shopping (I’m not much of a shopper). At lunch, we sat for a couple of hours and talked about life and laughed a lot. That time together reminded me that even though I don’t talk to these ladies often, if I am struggling with something I can be completely transparent with them and there will be no judgment or criticism. Only support and love and prayer. What a blessing! Ladies, if you are reading this blog, thank you for being such good friends to me. I continue to look forward to many more years of sharing our lives together. I love each of you dearly!

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Here We Go

I have contemplated writing a blog for a while now. I love to read other’s blogs and thought maybe someone out there will enjoy reading mine just as much. I desire for my blog to act as a journal for my thoughts and musings and a scrapbook on the happenings of our lives.
I want to begin this blog by sharing a little about myself and my hubby, Chad. We met at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1997 but did not begin dating for another year. We fell in love fast! We will be married for seven years come December. Wow! That’s crazy to me. It seems just like yesterday. How time flies! Chad works for Cook Children’s Hospital and I am the Director of Chosen Heritage Christian Adoption Services, which is a small, Christian adoption agency outside of Dallas. We both love our jobs and see these roles as part of our ministry here on earth. We love our church, Fielder Road Baptist, and are looking forward to becoming more involved in service opportunities. My favorite hobbies include watching movies, reading a good book, eating out (especially at new places), reading gossip magazines, and hanging with my hubby and our families (especially our sweet nieces and nephews). Chad and I love to hang out with other couples, going bowling, miniature golfing, out to eat, or just sitting around chatting.
We are about to embark on a new chapter in our lives and are excited to experience this joyful time together. I have realized as I look back at our lives together how perfect God’s timing is and how much he provides to us in our time of need. We look forward to sharing our lives with you and hope you enjoy reading about us as well.
