We don't usually watch Dancing With The Stars, but I was told to watch this video and it brought tears to my eyes. "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" are two of my favorite movies and watching this tribute brings back the feelings I have when I watch these movies. I just had to share!

10 Weeks

10 weeks! I will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Mom and I were talking this morning about how fast the pregnancy has gone so far. I can't believe I am almost through my first trimester. I am so blessed this pregnancy has gone so well. Other than having a car sick feeling throughout the day and dealing with exhaustion, this pregnancy has been a joy. I can only imagine what it will be like the first time we feel the baby move and kick. The realization that time is moving so fast has caused me to slow down and savor and enjoy each day, because I know the pregnancy will be over before I know it. Our world will never be the same!!! The biggest change with the baby this week is that the fingers are no longer webbed and the baby is kicking his/her legs. The baby is also approximately 2 inches long (the size of a lime) and weighs about a quarter of an ounce. I go to the doctor again next week because my blood pressure was high during my first prenatal visit. So please pray it was just the excitement of that day that caused the high blood pressure and not something that is going to be an issue throughout the pregnancy.

Fun on the Riverwalk

Renee, Sarah and I went to the Riverwalk tonight for dinner. We ate at Mi Tierra, which was so yummy! Sarah and I have birthdays a week apart from each other so we exchanged cards and gifts during dinner.

We then decided to walk along the Riverwalk and came across this beautiful bush to take a picture in front of.

As we were taking pictures, an older man decided to go behind the bush and urinate! This was very amusing and disguesting to us, but what do you do?!

After we walked for a while we needed Starbucks...again. Starbucks seems to be our favorite hangout when we're together so it was only right we end our night there.

The evening would not be perfect until we watch a few FRIENDS epidsodes, which is what we're doing now. This weekend has been great and we've made so many good memories. It's sad to think it will be many years before we will have another girl's weekend with the three of us.

9 Weeks

I am 9 weeks today, which means the baby is about an inch long (the size of a grape). The baby is beginning to look more human and has all his/her outside features in place. It's amazing to me that the baby can now smell, hear a little bit, taste, and see (although the eyelids are still closed)! We are enjoying learning about the growth and development of our baby. Being pregnant is such a surreal experience, especially after seeing the baby in a sonogram. I continue to just stare at the sono pictures and cannot believe this little "gingerbread baby" is growing inside me. I love it!

Girl's Weekend

Sarah and Renee are two of my very best friends who I love spending time with. Renee and her hubby are heading to the mission field soon, so we needed to have a girl's weekend before they leave the country. Yesterday, Renee and I drove down to San Antonio to spend the weekend with Sarah and her family. Today, we woke up early and went on a walk, then took Sarah's daughter, Lindsey, to school, went to Starbucks, then to a movie.

We saw "Love Happens" and it was a sob fest! I highly recommend this movie, but you should definately bring tissues.

After the movie, we ate lunch at Pei Wei and picked up Lindsey at school. Now we're sitting around watching Season 10 of FRIENDS...such a great way to spend the afternoon together.

Chad says he/she looks like a gingerbread man. Here's his/her profile And...baby got back! No really, it's the baby's back side. :) We are so excited about this little one and are thrilled for you to be a part of our lives during this incredible journey. We love you all!

"Baby Got Back"

For those of you who know me really, really well, you know I love, love, love the old TV show FRIENDS. I have watched every episode several times over and could tell you what each episode is about just from the title of the show. Anyway - enough bragging. Over the last few weeks I decided I needed to end each day by watching an episode, or two, or sometimes three, before I go to bed. It's so much better going to bed after you've laughed! It's a great way to end the day. This episode was the one I watched last night and I laughed so hard for the entire 24 minutes. Honestly, I can see Chad and I being just like this when we have a baby. I don't think we'd sing this exact song, but if that is what makes the baby laugh, then I think we would sacrifice just to hear that sweet laugh. (Now mom, I know you want to shake your finger at us already and tell us we shouldn't do this, but relax...it's all in good fun)!
